The most essential trait of all

We all want to be happy, rich and healthy. Otherwise, you'd not read these lines. There are many ways to achieve these goals. But achieving all three of them is tough. However, there's one commonality in people who've achieved this threefold success: Curiosity. Let's see how curiosity impacts all three areas.

1. Being happier

In a world with ever-increasing consumption and short-lived dopamine hits, lasting happiness is hard to achieve. most people are drowning in social media feeds, and social isolation is becoming one of the biggest problems for the current generations. Pair this with living the same life year after year for your entire career. It's a recipe for depression. In fact, 1 in 6 people is on anti-depressants in the US.

As a curious person, you can't stop trying new things, taking on new challenges, learning new concepts and meeting new people. All things that lead to life satisfaction. Despite all the technological progress, we can't escape our million-years old human emotional patterns.

We thrive when we have an impact, when we have healthy offline relationships, and when we progress on life's biggest questions.

2. Being richer

AI will disrupt the job market like nothing before in the last 100 years. Employees with traditional routine jobs will be replaced by AI agents. It's happening as we speak. The tech-savvy firms do it first, and small and medium businesses will come next.

At the same time, there's a massive demand for out-of-the-box-thinkers. Thanks to today's technological capabilities, a small team of highly creative and multi-skilled thinkers can outperform 10-100x bigger teams using "traditional work". The key skill for the next decade(s) is to combine and apply AI and related tech to the business world.

As a curious mind, your skills span a range of disciplines. This combination of skills and mindset is of powerful value. Employers pay big checks for these people. And for entrepreneurship, you need it more than ever. Think of Elon Musk as an extreme.

3. Being healthier

The masses don't care about what they eat. They don't care how their body functions. All they might care about is losing a few pounds before summer. I don't understand them.

Your body is the basis for all you do. Even your mind. What you eat and how you train affects both your health and your mind. I sincerely believe that only a strong body can achieve a strong mind.

I'm not saying everyone should become a hobby doctor, but a basic understanding of how diet and exercise affect your life would be a start.

As this is such a major topic for everyone, it's usually one of the first things a curious person digs into. As a result, they place a high value on their diet and exercise regimen. And are healthier.

Takeaway

Stay curious. It's the spark for everything good in your life. Learn, hone, and combine your skills in your areas of interest, apply today's tech, and you can achieve results you don't dare to dream of.

Playing with video

As part of my own journey, I started playing with shooting videos for my article series "How to build your personal blog". It's way easier to transfer knowledge this way than writing down every line of code in a too-long article no one wants to read. I'm finalizing the first episode over the coming week, so keep an eye out if you're considering it.

I'm using Loom and am truly impressed by their features and how intuitive and easy it is. I will definitely dig deeper into this rabbit hole this year. I already had to resist shopping for a mic, lights, stands, and so on. I'll look into this once I've published my first 20 videos to keep me motivated :)

This is it for today. Thanks for reading and let me know if I can help you with anything Solopreneurship!
